From the very first enquiry, Poppy was warm, responsive, and full of enthusiasm. She organised a video call quickly and immediately felt like someone we could trust – she was not only kind and professional, but her excitement for our day matched our own. It was infectious and set the tone for a wonderful experience throughout.
On the day itself, Poppy wasn’t just our photographer – she was a calming presence, a gentle guide, and someone truly on our side. So much so that our family members thought Poppy was a friend capturing our day! She kept us focused on enjoying the day, gave us time to meet our guests during the drinks reception, and whisked us away for no more than 20 minutes just before dinner to take portraits – a moment that felt private, special, and never overwhelming. My partner, who usually dreads being in front of a camera, felt totally at ease in her presence.
And of course – the photographs!! The images have left us speechless. The quality, emotion, and beauty in each shot are beyond what we could have imagined. Guests still haven’t stopped talking about the few previews we’ve shared – a testament to Poppy’s extraordinary talent.

We’ve just received our photos and I cried!
I came across Poppy on Instagram whilst searching for a wedding photographer, I was blown away by per page as soon as I saw it! I knew I had to have her! I was obsessed with her photos! I wanted someone who captures fun and natural shots, and Poppy nails it!
Myself and now husband had such a laugh with Poppy, my husband wasn’t keen on the engagement shoot Poppy offers before the big day, however I was as she recommended it would help getting used to the camera. I couldn’t have agreed more, it was really easing. We didn’t want to spend hours away from guests having photos on the day and that is Poppy’s aim too! Perfect!

An amazing talent and the quintessential professional
I really can’t overstate how much we loved working with Poppy. Having found her online after getting engaged 2.5yrs ago, she’s photographed us 3 times, most recently being for our wedding last weekend. I’ve used Poppy Carter Portraits for three separate photoshoots now, two for my first son and the third for my newborn, with another two shoots also in the pipeline. I can’t recommend Poppy enough. She is so warm and friendly, and is great with little ones, quickly making them feel at ease and relaxed in front of the camera. Yet she’s also professional, with a fully professional set up, and great knowledge of how to shoot the best pictures. The images from the shoot are available quickly to view, and there’s no hard sell. In fact, there’s no need, as the images sell themselves. I’ve been delighted with all the photos from Poppy, and family and friends have all commented on how lovely the images are, and how much they really capture the spirit of our little boy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Poppy to anyone who is looking for a photographer who is easy to get along with, professional, and will create memories you will cherish forever.

As soon as we first saw Poppy’s photos online we knew she was the one we wanted to capture our day. Not only are Poppy’s photos absolutely beautiful, but she is an extremely lovely fun person who is exactly who you want to be there with you on your wedding day.
