Findon Place Wedding with incredible design details

If you are looking for a wedding venue bursting with history, charm & timeless beauty well stop your search right now. You’ve found everything you are looking for!

Findon Place is a stunning example of classical Georgian architecture. It has an extensive and rich history and is listed Grade II* due to its architectural and historical merit. There has been a dwelling on the site since 980 AD and is mentioned in the Doomsday book. There are few homes that can boast a heritage as illustrious as Findon Place. The roll call of its owners reads like a history textbook: from Harold II, who was defeated at the Battle of Hastings, to Thomas Cromwell, beheaded by Henry VIII for helping to arrange the king’s marriage to Anne of Cleves. The house continues to be a private family home but for the first time in a long time the house is open for other people to enjoy. The house has been adapted for modern day living with a lightness of hand and has great balance between formal and informal spaces which makes it perfect to entertain in – from the grandest of parties and balls to the most intimate dinner parties for your closest family and friends.

Choosing Findon Place

It’s not hard to see why Rebecca & Richard fell in love with this magical venue… this couple have seriously good taste and wanted their wedding to reflect that within the romantic & playful design. Expertly brought together by Riri from The Planning Suite – this wedding was show stopping from start to finish!

Outdoor Ceremony

The gardens offer the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony. Your aisle is through the delicately scented jasmine in the walled garden, past your drinks reception by the pool and under the shade of grand trees.

It’s all in the detail…

Beautiful design really is all in the detail… thoughtful, whimsical and romantic in this case. With small silver dishes overflowing with ripe British strawberries, to soft satin bows flown all the way from Venice… And of course every element complimenting the other so your guests will be blown away when they walk in. You will spend a large portion of your day sitting at these very tables and it is your best chance to really show off your personality.

Couple Portraits

To say you are spoiled for locations at Findon Place would be an understatement. Immaculate gardens, beautiful architecture and wonderful interior design – regardless of weather you will always have stunning locations to take your couple portraits on your wedding day. I stole Rebecca & Ricard for a walk around the venue before dinner and took a moment to take in the beauty of our surroundings.

Dessert in the gardens…

If I shared this dessert table alone you’d be forgiven for thinking this was just an editorial set up for a magazine feature… but no… I do promise this is a real wedding! Kalm Kitchen catered and included their famous dessert table. I love the idea of taking your pudding outdoors in the golden hour light. After sitting listening to speeches and eating your first two courses it’s a wonderful change of scene to grab some fresh air, a cocktail or two and enjoy a break before heading back in to start the dancing! I always say the best weddings put the guest experience at the forefront and Rebecca & Richard absolutely nailed it every step of the way!

A note from the couple…

This is just a few images from their beautiful preview but I couldn’t resist getting these straight onto the blog to hopefully inspire your wedding planning! Rebecca kindly emailed me this when she received the preview gallery: “Oh good god Poppy these are incredible!! You are so talented, thank you, I love them 😍 Can’t wait to see them all xx”
