What a year we have had – with so many restrictions we still managed some incredible celebrations! I thought it would be nice to look back at some of the highlights as it all seemed to rush by in a blur once we were allowed to reopen! The vast majority of my couples were postponements from 2020 or early 2021 which made every celebration more special when it finally came!
April – Huntsmill Farm
I started the year with a small ceremony & outdoor picnic at Huntsmill Farm in Buckingham for Sophie & Mike! The restrictions were heavy at this point but this gorgeous couple went ahead with what they were allowed to do and saved the party for December!
Laura-Jayne & Mike – Ceremony & Portraits
Next up Laura-Jayne & Mike went ahead with their small ceremony with just 3 guests – followed by a short drive to take some beautiful & romantic portraits to remember the day. These two were just amazing at posing together & it was so wonderful to be a small part of their celebration! Beautiful Hair & Makeup by my dream team Laura Carroll Makeup Artistry & Holly Edmonds Hair Artistry!
Amy & Phil at Ayot St Lawrence Palladian Church followed by the Pub
Restrictions were still pretty tight at this point – limited guest numbers at the ceremony – outdoors only and you had to remain seated when at the pub (sounds ridiculous even saying that now!) but Amy & Phil still managed to have the most amazing day! We got some beautiful weather for late April so the outdoor pub reception was perfect! Amy’s beautiful dress was one of kind – made at The Wedding Workshop, Amthill.
As we moved in May the restrictions lifted slightly once more…
With just 30 guests indoors Claire & Andy had the coolest of celebrations at the stunning Maison Talbooth in Colchester. Their drinks reception was so much fun, giving Ibiza vibes round the pool complete with saxophonist! They also had the best cake of the year for sure!
Hannah & Ryan were married at the end of May – a perfect day complete with their beautiful dog making an appearance!
A gorgeous, intimate church ceremony followed by a music filled afternoon with glorious sunshine and dancing around the Italian fountain! (Shh! Don’t tell Boris!)
Into June at the guest restrictions were finally lifted!
Gaby & Oliver were married in the gardens of Fawley Court in Henley under the most magical Chuppah I’ve ever seen – the entire day was outdoors with an open sided marquee for the evening celebration!
Amy & Leo were married at one of my favourite venues, Micklefield Hall, in July…
The sweetest couple with the most amazing families – this day was definitely a highlight of the year for everyone involved! I could never tire of photographing couples in the beautiful gardens of Micklefield Hall and the incredible team always make it an absolute joy too!
Next up was a truly spectacular day at The Lost Orangery, Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds.
This venue is on most Wedding photographers ‘dream list’ so I felt very lucky to be working at such a beautiful venue! Not only that but with such an amazing team – Jennifer Louise planned the day to perfection and my favourite Laura Carroll Makeup Artistry helped the beautiful Naomi look even more flawless!
Into August – full steam ahead with the craziest month of all time!
10 Weddings in August meant it flew by in a blur of beautiful celebrations and so much fun! It really felt like we were back and finally able to enjoy every moment without having to worry about Covid for a brief window… I’m going to try and jump through some of these with only 1 photo – if that’s even possible! 😉
So many of these weddings have now been featured in Rock My Wedding too if you want to see more!
